It's That Time of Year Again....

The Angel Tree Program Kicks Off Today

The SABOMA Community Service Committee is asking all SABOMA members to participate in the Angel Tree program. The Angel Tree program has benefited as many as 500 children each year in recent years! What an accomplishment SABOMA Members! The organizations that receive your generous donations are the San Antonio Youth Center, CASA and the Calouix Ranch House. Many managers and allied businesses have already volunteered to sponsor a tree but we still have angels that need to be sponsored. If you are interested in placing an Angel Tree in your building or place of business, please contact Richard Alexander at 349-4647 or Gloria Contreras at 805-9900 to have angels delivered to your building today! Angel Tree donations will be picked up from participating buildings and businesses on December 12, 2008.

3. Important Information On SAWS Commercial Reporting
Annual Irrigation Reports

A SABOMA member who attended the Mayors Task Force Meeting reports that a representative from SAWS reported that only 50% of commercial operators are complying with their obligation to send in an annual irrigation report. SAWS is considering higher fees in the future for those who continue to fail to comply with this reporting requirement. Property Managers and Building Owners do not want to see new fees and/or fines established that do not currently exist because some are not complying with this regulation. Please visit the San Antonio Water Systems website at http://www.saws.org/ to learn more about reporting regulations and who to contact if you have any questions.

5. PJ O'Toole Update
Sent from Laura on 11-5-08 - Good News is Never Late

One year down and four to go!!!!

I remember talking with my Mother shortly after P.J. was diagnosed. We wondered what life would be like in just one year. Now I know.... Life is good. P.J. was at the doctor this morning and his counts are beautiful. Both of the boys are doing great in school, and having a ball while they are there. I am enjoying my new role as a stay at home mom and I am so thankful to have a husband who supports me in it. Tonight Pat is in Denver, Colorado for meetings. When he booked this trip we looked at each other and wondered how it just so happens he will be in one of the boys' favorite places as we close the first chapter in this journey we are taking. So tomorrow after school the boys think I am taking them to pick Pat up at the airport. We will park and I will give them the biggest thrill as I pull out luggage and explain that we will be meeting Dad at the Denver airport NOT San Antonio! It just so happens that the slopes open Friday morning, exactly one year after P.J. began chemotherapy. Jacob will get to have a special Birthday celebration with his brother in the mountains. And perhaps the best part will be Pat and I sitting back, thanking God for our two pieces of Heaven right here on earth!!!

I am hoping that this is the last update for a while as we continue to move in the right direction.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank each of you for your love and support over the last year.

I am certain that without my family and friends I would never have made it!

God Speed...........

Laura
