7. PJ O'TOOLE UPDATE
FROM LAURA O'TOOLE

Good evening all. I just had to share the good news that P.J. came home and will be spending his seventh Birthday at HOME!!!!! We have officially finished treatment and the fever that comes along with it. He is still on antibiotics for a few scratches, but we are hoping that they are cleared up in the next few days. I am now playing the role of nurse at home giving him a shot daily to boost his white blood cells. Yep, you read it right, I am giving him shots. You should see the bruise I left today..... when the doctor sees it Monday I'll probably be fired!!!! Good thing P.J. forgave me. J

As promised, my parents gave P.J. a pizza party for the entire hospital unit, patients, families and nursing staff, before we left. We took pictures and said our "good-byes" but the best part was when we were approaching the elevator lobby, P.J. turned and said "I'll see you....... NEVER!!!!!". We now put everything into FAITH. He is truly amazing. Infact, tonight we were saying our prayers and he thanked God for letting him beat the Leukemia and for getting him through all of his chemo treatments healthy. Pat and I just sit in awe at his attitude. Jacob asked God to make P.J. better so they can swim...... they are both ready to move on with life. (I'd have to say Pat and I are ready for that too!)

Please continue your prayers. As I said before, November 7, 2012 seems like an eternity. We will continue to get blood counts several times a week and for the next four and a half years P.J. will be monitored closely. My stomach sinks each time the CBC is handed to me; now I know what to look for and I just keep praying.

For now, please keep our little guy in your prayers. Being seven is bound to be a terrific time in his life!!!

Pat and I do want to thank each and every one of you for your Faith and Prayers. We are so incredibly blessed to have such amazing family and friends. Your "gift" is something we cherish. We pray each night that not a single one of you ever needs us in the way that we have needed you, but should you face a life struggle PLEASE do not hesitate to call on us.

I will continue to update as we slowly move back to "normal" life.

Love and blessings to you all

Laura
