7. PJ O'TOOLE UPDATE FROM LAURA O'TOOLE Hello all, we hope this email finds you well. Tuesday of last week started P.J.'s fifth and last scheduled round of chemo. It is a nine day cycle but he only gets treatment on days 1,2,8 and 9. As always he did wonderful on days 1 and 2. We were able to come home Thursday to spend the weekend at home and will head back to the hospital Tuesday this week to finish up. Once he completes the last dose of chemo we wait for the fever and head back for antibiotics. Then with Gods help, we will leave the hospital forever and he will stay in remission until they call him cured in five years. The last seven months have actually gone smoother than I ever expected. P.J. has fought like a champ and has proven to be stronger than Pat and I could ever be. Jacob, who fights along side his brother, continues to fight and believe that in no time at all we will live a normal life again. Pat and I just coast, the idea of finishing the treatment protocol scares us both, but we know that God has our P.J. in his hands. (should P.J. relapse, we start the nightmare all over again and fight the disease with a stem cell transplant) For now, we ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers. Please pray that he completes this round without any setbacks and that all he has endured will lead him to a cure. I also ask that you keep our little friend McKenzie in your prayers. We met McKenzie and her family on the oncology floor and see them regularly at the doctors' office. She is a three year old who had a 10 hour surgery last Tuesday. She is in Pediatric ICU and needs a lot of prayers sent her way. (as do all of the children battling cancer) I will email as we near the end of this round. Thank you all for your prayers....... God is hearing them......................... Love to all, Laura
