5. Information provided by the Emergency Prepardeness Committee
Colin Ellison

The next San Antonio Police Department BATNet meeting will be held on February 21, 2008, at the SAPD Hdqtrs located at 214 W. Nueva Street in the basement MAP Room. Meetings are conducted from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm normally with a host providing lunch. Parking is available at no cost in the parking lot across from the police station. Please note that you must arrive early in order to secure a parking space. Don't forget to ask the reception desk officers to stamp your parking invoice upon leaving the meeting.

This month's speaker will be Dr. Carla Zaine, SAPD. Dr. Zaine will discuss recovery of crime data from police records using your home or office computer. As a note to BOMA members who are unfamiliar with this information, it is the crime detail part of a CAP, Crime Index Report and may be obtained by either street or zip code. Investigators use this information when preparing reports for attorneys on potential property liability issues to demonstrate known historical crime data for a location and the failure of property owners or managers to take precautionary actions in crime prevention.

As an Investigator, I personally recommend our members to use this information as support in your budgets and as a tool for ensuring that your security plans meet the threats that actually have a greater propensity to occur on your property.

8. P.J. O'Toole Update
News from Laura

Hello all...... P.J. will complete round three of chemo this morning at 4:00am and will be coming home around noon Saturday. He is doing so incredibly well. This round started "intensification" therapy which means he is getting high dose chemo so the side effects are a little more uncomfortable...... but that doesn't keep him from amazing us daily. His counts will continue to fall this week and we will probably be back in the hospital for antibiotics late next week. We are now more than half way to completing the treatment protocol and he continues to believe he has already beat the disease. We are all ready to have him home, especially Jacob..... he spent time at BassPro this week (with PawPaw) and now the boys are ready to have a "shoot out" in my living room with their new toy guns!!!! (quite frankly I can't wait either!)

Please keep praying that the chemo continues to do what it is intended to without complications, and that each day he is one day closer to being cured!

May God Bless You All.......

Laura
