1. Replacement Blood Drive Reminder A second blood drive is being sponsored at Highpoint Towers on Tuesday, December 4, from 4pm to 6:30pm in the 6th floor conference room for P.J. O'Toole . Anyone interested in donating blood in P.J.'s name for his ongoing treatment of leukemia should call Diane Towery or Terri Liles at 614-3820 to sign up. Each donation made in P.J.'s name is credited toward the uninsured portion of the blood processing fees associated with his treatment. Make sure to bring a photo ID as well as eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating. Thanks to all who are able to participate in this worthy cause!
2. P.J. O'Toole Update a note from Laura Many were encouraged to see Laura at the November luncheon; afterward, she wanted to share a few thoughts with the membership: I wanted to drop a note to say thank you to all of the BOMA members for keeping P.J. in your prayers. I had to race back to the hospital this afternoon and was not able to stay for the whole luncheon. P.J. is doing very well for a six year old with cancer. His first ten day cycle of chemo was hard, and now we are waiting for his WBC to come up so that we might get a break at home during the holidays. Soon we will start round two of chemo, and shortly after that we will find out if the best road to a cure is through more intense chemo or a bone marrow transplant. Obviously we pray for the chemo route, but will deal with whatever comes our way. Perhaps the hardest part is not being in control. I have come to realize that I must keep my faith in God and trust in the medical team, without those two things I am no good to P.J. or the rest of my family. (Jacob desperately misses his brother.) Prayer is a powerful thing and with so many people praying for P.J. how can we not pull through this on top? It will be a very long road and a difficult treatment either way.... so keep those prayers coming!!! I can not thank you enough for holding the blood drives. P.J. gets blood and platelets on a regular basis so I can not express to you how much Pat and I appreciate everyone participating. BOMA is a remarkable group of people and I feel very blessed to be a part of it. Please continue to pray for a cure. Laura (Pat, P.J. and Jacob too!!)
3. The Gift of Giving adopt an angel The community service committee has kicked off its annual Angel Tree project. If you would like to sponsor an Angel Tree, please contact Cindy Hernandez at chernandez@naireocpartners.com. Angels will be delivered by Richard Alexander to those sponsoring a tree, and all wrapped gifts will be picked up by December 18th.
