On Friday, September 14, the funeral service for Army Corporal Javier Paredes will be held at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery. Paredes, who graduated from Ingram High School, died September 5 in Iraq.

The City of San Antonio honors the sacrifices of local fallen heroes by lowering the flags at municipal buildings to half-staff on the day of the funeral services.

This community has deep military roots and strong patriotism. In honor of Corporal Paredes and his family, I am inviting all local businesses and property managers to join us and lower flags flown at their facilities to half-staff this Friday.

I would sincerely appreciate your efforts in passing this request on to your associates and members.
