1. High-Rise Burglary Alert

A high-rise on the northwest side/ IH-10 area, was burglarized this past weekend, as well as a number of suites in the Frost Bank Building on San Pedro Avenue. No high dollar merchandise was reported missing although office doors and file cabinets were pried open and desks ransacked.

Building managers and staff should be on alert for persons loitering around stairwells and restrooms, and report any suspicious activity. We will keep an eye on this issue and update as new information becomes available.

3. Texas BOMA
Raising Our Legislative Awareness

Legislative Advocacy remains the primary focus of Texas BOMA, and this purpose was restated at the Texas BOMA Board meeting held Friday, August 24 in Austin. It is the commitment of the board to better communicate the actions and effectiveness of the Texas BOMA legislative program to local boards, members and the public. In an effort to accomplish this, it was recommended that a policy be developed whereby Locke, Liddell & Sapp would provide an Issues Update to Texas BOMA monthly to help keep everyone better informed of relevant local, state and national issues.

4. On the Lighter Side...
The True Rules Of Golf - Part 4 of 4

  1. There are two things you can learn by stopping your backswing at the top and checking the position of your hands: how many hands you have, and which one is wearing the glove.
  2. Hazards attract. Fairways repel. You can put "draw" on the ball, you can put "fade" on the ball, but no golfer can put "straight" on the ball.
  3. A ball you can see in the rough from 50 yards away is not yours.
  4. If there is a ball in the fringe and a ball in the bunker, your ball is the one in the bunker.
  5. If both balls are in the bunker, yours is in the footprint.
  6. Don't buy a putter until you've had a chance to throw it.
