Good news for this year's entrants in our local competition for The Office Building of the Year! We are moving the entry deadline to February 15 so you will have a couple more weeks to tweak your submission documents. I know of two confirmed entries so far -- Westgate Medical Center and Nowlin Building. Are there any more out there?

Most of our members are aware that BOMA and IREM have some form of partnership regarding each association's annual analysis of operating income and expenses. What I still find a great deal of confusion about is exactly what that means.

What it does mean: They both use the same survey form for data collection.

What it doesn't mean: There is no sharing of data between the research departments of BOMA and IREM, so you must submit your information to both organizations. If you only send your responses to IREM, they will be used in only the IREM calculations - and vice versa for BOMA. Please send your operating figures to both groups (two separate submissions)!

The officers and I just returned from BOMA International's Winter Business Meeting in Las Vegas, where San Antonio BOMA was recognized for a couple of accomplishments: a significant increase in the number of EER participants in our local market, and a 16% increase in membership numbers. We couldn't have done it without you!
