TO: all members of SABOMA FROM: Lynn Forester (830) 981-5223
Local member Tom Morris is chairing a Special Interest Group (SIG) for BOMA International which focuses on the retail/mixed-use sector of commercial real estate. He would like members with this type of property in their management portfolio to answer the two questions below; just send me your input and I'll pass it on to him. Thanks! Question #1 -- What are the top 3-5 topics, issues and questions regarding mixed use development, operations and management that you feel should be addressed in education seminars at the Mixed Use Conference and/or BOMA convention? Question #2 -- What are the top 3-5 products or services you would like BOMA to consider to address the needs of members interested in and/or currently working in retail and mixed-use development?
The following companies have generously agreed to sponsor our luncheon jackpot drawings during 2007. Our Allied Members are the greatest!
April Seminar Scheduled Another installment of our popular Roofwalk Seminar is set for Tuesday, April 10 from 8am to noon. The location will be Trinity Baptist Church, which has several types of roofing systems onsite that students can familiarize themselves with during the field trip portion of the class. As always, we will apply for four hours of TREC MCE credit. The content focuses on roofing systems and rooftop air conditioning components, and is geared to both property managers and maintenance staff. Registration information will follow in a couple of months, but go ahead and put the date on your schedule now! Many thanks to the presenters, Dick Zucker of Beldon Roofing Company and Joe Brooks of Gillette Air Conditioning.
I know we're all a little loopy from the ice storm, but don't forget we have a membership meeting coming up in a few days! If you are planning to attend, please make a reservation if you haven't already.

If you prepaid for luncheons when you renewed your membership for 2007, there are a couple of important things to remember: Being prepaid doesn't mean you automatically have a reservation. We still need you to RSVP each month you plan to attend so we have an accurate headcount for the meals. These months are not included in the prepaid package -- April (joint meeting with IFMA and IREM), October (golf tournament dinner) and December (holiday cocktail party). You'll need to make separate payment arrangements for these events. | ||||
