1. We will open up booth sales for our 5/24/07 trade show in a couple of weeks. For now, I can tell you that the theme of this year's event is "Viva Las Vegas: What Happens at Trade Show Stays at Trade Show". Mark your calendar and start thinking about costume and exhibit decoration ideas!

2. I am not kidding! If you are going to serve on a committee this year, please sign up soon -- the chairs need their roster of volunteers so they can get started on their tasks. To make your selections, go to http://www.saboma.org/survey-mail.asp.

3. A little property manager birdie tells me: "In the 5 years that my buildings have been part of the City of San Antonio, I have never had an electrical inspector come by to check that my maintenance technicians have current license/permits with either the city or the state. Well, today they did. He informed me that they have recently doubled the number of inspectors and are now going to all the commercial properties to confirm compliance. Also, the maintenance techs can be licensed through the state of Texas and not need the city permit. I did not know that." If you need more information about these registrations, go here: www.saboma.org/kb26.htm

4. Isn't it aggravating when you are in an email thread with lots of recipients and a few people begin replying back and forth with comments on the issue at hand? The discussion gets disjointed very quickly when some use 'reply all' and some just reply to the original poster. Here's a good rule of thumb you can use to help mass electronic communication go more smoothly: If you are in the TO block of the email, the message was meant directly for you and you can correspond with the sender and all others in the TO block. If you are in the CC block, it's just an info copy and it would be best to hold back and monitor the discussion without jumping in right away with your two cents. Senders should keep this general rule in mind as well, and pay close attention to how messages are distributed. With a little forethought, stream-of-consciousness email exchanges inadvertently involving an entire village can be avoided.
