1. Parking garages and elevator fire service: Lawrence Taylor from TDLR recently clarified that an elevator which exclusively serves a vehicle parking garage in a building that: (a) is used only for parking, and (b) is constructed of noncombustible materials, and (c) is not greater than 75 feet in height; can get a waiver of compliance from the firefighter's service provisions of the ASME Code A17.1 or the ASME Code A17.3 from the Executive Director (of TDLR). However, a request for waiver is required. (This from an email from Mr. Taylor dated 11/29/06.)
