In addition to the point requirement, graduates will be responsible for payment of an annual CPD administrative fee.

Points may be earned in the following ways, and verification of completion must be included:

1. Completing courses or seminars (one point per hour of instruction). Courses/seminars do not have to be taken through an approved provider as long as it meets the approved content.

2. Serve as a board or committee member for one or more organizations related to the building or facilities industry (six points per year, per position)

3. Hold an active real estate license (eighteen points, except New Jersey)

4. Maintain active membership in an industry association related to the building or facilities industry (two points per year, per membership)

5. Professional Accomplishments (two CPD points will be awarded for every writing, presentation, and/or research hour needed to complete any of the projects listed below)
   1. Publish an original article or research paper in a national journal
   2. Winning a Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) International and/or Local Building Award
   3. Participate as a presenter at a regional, national, or International conference on commercial property or related topic
   4. Serve as an instructor for any qualifying program
   5. Serve as an author/reviewer or member of an examination development workshop for any qualifying program.

Note : If you are retired or are no longer active in the profession, you do not need to meet the CPD requirement. Notify BOMI and we will mark your record accordingly. If you return to the industry and notify BOMI, you will be reinstated in a current CPD cycle.

Partial points cannot be accepted. Please submit your point requirement once you have acquired the entire 18 points.
