THAT'S A WRAP
Written by: Joi Taylor, RPA Dominion Advisory Group
San Antonio BOMA took over the Hyatt Hill Country Resort on Friday, October 10th with 184 golfers and over 250 attendees to our dinner program.
The President of our Title Sponsor, ISS Facilities Services, Tom Norman said this was a first class tournament and we definitely knew how to do things right in San Antonio. I guess that means we aced it!
Weather was beautiful, attitudes were relaxed and too many caddies were in the mood to play golf, not caddy. Through the good and the bad shots, small delays and long treks to the restrooms, we once again left our mark for the 20th year on a San Antonio golf course. Did you know that we are known as the Crown Royal Group and the Hyatt stocks the drink cars heavy with such on the day of our event? Oops, maybe I wasn't supposed to share that part, with any luck Gay will not be reading this.
I do have one thing to confess, I was very disappointed that out of the record $27,000 in total prizes, I did not win a single one. I know, selfish on my part I admit, but with all the prize tickets I was watching over maybe I had better odds at a 2 for 1 bingo game or a gin rummy tournament. I am sure those that have already planned a cruise, are currently watching a new plasma TV or have already done their Christmas shopping with all those gift cards don't care and more power to them. Maybe I should just have Ramiro teach me how to throw dice, go to Vegas and win, win, win.
Speaking of winning, our charity, Texas Burn Survivors Society was also a winner. Current estimates indicate we will be making a contribution to them of over $7,000. See what a difference you make.
Plans are already in place for 2009, so keep practicing and remember it's not just a day out of the office, without you it wouldn't be possible.
