As a change in the Executive Director's position for SABOMA does not happen every day, we thought a quick introductory article would be a good way to begin Shelly's new adventure in the world of BOMA and allow you all to get acquainted with her.

For those of you that have been involved with SABOMA over the years, the name Anthis might sound a little familiar. And yes, there is a connection. Shelly is married to Larry Anthis who is the son of the prominent San Antonio property manager John Anthis. Shelly and Larry have been married for fifteen years and are the proud parents of two sons - Kyle who is nine and Taylor who is five.

Shelly was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and grew up in Marion, Iowa with three sisters and two brothers. She graduated with a BBA in Marketing from Iowa State University in 1983. Over the years Shelly has lived in several locations in the United States but happily now calls San Antonio home. For the past fifteen years Shelly and Larry have worked to plant new congregations for the International Church of Christ. Through this involvement Shelly has had much experience in planning meetings and events, working with committees, motivating volunteers, and raising money for local charities. Upon hearing about the opening at SABOMA, her past experience seemed like a perfect fit and would allow her to hit the ground running. Let's hope she's got a new pair of tennies.
