San Antonio BOMA Welcomes Teresa Tuma

San Antonio BOMA is proud to announce the Executive Director position has been filled by our own Teresa Tuma.

Teresa has been in real estate for 10 years and actively involved, as a Property Manager, in BOMA for 9 years. Many of you will recognize her from her many hours of volunteer work, serving on various committees within the chapter.

In order to learn a bit more about her, we thought a little introductory article would be appropriate.

Outside of work, Teresa is a very involved mom in the lives of her 2 daughters, Kassidy and Kaitlyn. Both girls are in middle school and are talented musicians, playing in the school orchestra. Kaitlyn is also a track star and enjoys volleyball. Not surprising, since all of you who know Teresa know she's somewhat competitive and loves to dance, so her girls should naturally excel in sports and music!

When asked why she agreed to take the job as Executive Director, she cited a bit of burn out in her prior management job, the satisfaction and challenge in learning something new and the flexibility this position offers in being able to work close to home and stay involved with her family.

Since she loves BOMA and has benefited from her membership she decided if she ever were to totally change careers she would miss the advantages gained by networking with her fabulous BOMA friends and associates.

Teresa's vision for the near future includes bringing the association into the new millennium technologically ("even if we go kicking and screaming"); growing our education component, RPA, SMA & SMT designations and forming closer ties and professional sharing with SAABE through BOMI programs and designations; and growing membership vitality by attracting more property managers.

On a lighter note, when asked what BOMA members would probably not already know about her, Teresa shared that one summer she drove a water truck for a paving company that would only go forward (no reverse), so her driving skills are somewhat creative.

Welcome Teresa!
