Remember, our annual "Back to School" project benefiting some very unfortunate children gets underway soon. Every fall, backpacks and school supplies of all kinds are needed at the Children's Shelter of San Antonio, which provides temporary housing for little ones who have been removed from their home due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
If you would like to hold a drive for school supplies at your building or place of business, contact Richard Alexander (210) 733-6015 so he can schedule a pick-up date. Remember that all backpacks collected need to be clear so you can see the contents.
Yes, there's also a couch-potato route! You can sponsor a well-equipped backpack stuffed with supplies for $35; call the SABOMA office with your pledge and we'll be happy to invoice you for the charitable donation. Tax receipts will be sent to all contributors.
And don't forget the Summer Social:
Most of the food booths are taken, but there are still some entertainment booth slots available. If you or your company would like more information, please contact Rebecca Sims at (210) 524-4000 or John Hill at (210) 421-5701. Reservations are required so we can plan for appropriate quantities of food and prizes, so please let us know you're coming!
